The Channel Islands Financial Ombudsman (CIFO) can consider complaints about financial services providers operating from Jersey, Guernsey, Alderney and Sark. CIFO is set up in law and the relevant legislation sets certain boundaries for CIFO (“our mandate”) on the types of complaint we can investigate. Before bringing your complaint to CIFO, it is important that you have first complained to the relevant financial services provider. Then if you are not happy with their response, or if they have not provided a response within 3 months, you can complain to CIFO.
